now that Nothing wanting is finished (Yes, I know this is a pretty bad pun but I couldn’t resist
) I had this entry almost ready at the beginning of the month when juliecoop posted the last chapter of her story but then I was prevented from finishing it and now, four weeks later, I publish it. That’s also a reason for retaining this entry’s title despite the bad pun because we were wanting somehow the last few months. I know, I know, it’s barely an excuse (even more as we have already used this excuse far too often) but RL is hell at the moment (I started university in January and Fiora is part of the NMUN this year in April and pretty busy with all the preparations) and will be for some weeks to come (in both our cases probably until mid-April).
Now, coming back to the story, I think I’ll start with citing the blurb
Unable to stop Elizabeth and Darcy’s wedding, Lady Catherine instead attempts to interfere with their marital bliss.
The story begins to alter from canon when Elizabeth has a slightly different conversation with Colonel Fitzwilliam at Rosings which leads her to believe that the story Wickham told her is not entirely true and forces her to rethink her opinion about a certain gentleman from Derbyshire
The Hunsford proposal then is slightly different from the one we know (and love
) and I think I can reveal that Elizabeth accepts Darcy’s proposal directly. When Darcy then has to leave Kent, Elizabeth quickly builds a friendship with Anne de Bourgh not knowing that Lady Catherine will later on use the little letters the two girls exchanged to interfere with the Darcys’ marriage.
As always I don’t want to give away too much in my summary just go ahead and read it. There is some angst later on and at some point there are some really heart-wrenching scenes, but as always all will be well in the end. I also must congratulate juliecoop on her portrayal of the Colonel in this story. I really, really liked him and I don’t want to guess what would’ve happend with Lizzy and Darcy without him.
The story was published at the DWG – here is the link.
